BELLRINGER 4-24

We can not blame violent video games and the internet everytime there is a shooting or some idiot goes on a rampage. As a kid I played violent video games and I still do to this day but yet I'm not shooting every person that gets in my way. Yes, I fight with my brother but thats how brother and sister relationships work. I think that what really inspired his shooting sprea was either a very VERY disfunctional family as a child or anger toward school mates/neighborhood kids from his youth. Violent video games and the internet can not be blamed for everything that happens because being honest there were big shootings before the internet and violent video games, who was to blame then??

Bellringer 4-18

I think the most important invention was the grain harvester because there was a lot of grain grown in Europe. It probably made picking grain a lot easier then it had been before. Also it required less workers so that put more money in the land owners pocket.

Corn Picker

As our project, we decided to build a corn picker. These were invented quite a while ago. It is an amazing how much a simple invention like this advanced the agricultural process. It was made in 1850 by a man named Edmund Quincy. This was on of the most helpful creations around this time. It also helped make picking corn much quicker.       This machine was invented because of the lack of workers on Quincy's farm. He needed a way to pick corn quickly using very few people. After a few prototypes along came the corn picker but since back then it has evolved quite a bit. This machine now pushes over the corn, sucks up the stalk, peels the corn from it and the corn is dropped into a truck driving beside it. The stalk is then shot out the back of the machine. This makes picking corn much simpler and requires less people.

    Queen Elizabeth 1st

I sat in front of my mother as she brushed my hair and hummed. It was odd for my mother to request my presence so late into the night but when her chamber maid had awaken me and said that I was to go with her to my mothers chamber I asked no questions. My mother then sent the chamber maid for a brush and combs. When she  returned my mother took the brush and combs and dismissed the maid. I found it odd to be with my mother while there were no servants around but I thought nothing of it at the time. We sat for a long time before my mother said anything.
" I shall not be around much longer Elizabeth," she said laying the brush aside and beginning to work the combs into my hair "You must realize that when I leave, you must not ask where I am. I shall be unable to write or visit. You will lose all connections with me. All will be well though. You will grow up to be a wonderful young lady no matter what others say. Do you understand me?" She said standing me up and turning me around to face her.
" Yes Mother. Where are you going though? May I come visit you? May I write?" I questioned taking her hand in mine. She patted my hand gently then pulled me onto her lap.
" I am going some where farther away then you letters could ever go, or you could ever travel. I am going farther away then any coach or boat could carry you. You must not look for me because when you do you will become disappointed and sad. Do not let my leaving cause you grief but remember I am somewhere better." Just then two guards walked into the room. The taller of the two spoke.
"It is time to go Madame." My Mother sighed and kissed my forehead and held me tight for a moment then called for her chamber maid.
" Return Elizabeth to her bed and be sure to stay with her till she is in deep sleep." Then the maid took me away and to my room. There I laid unable to sleep for a long time. I laided there thinking about what my Mother had said for quite some time. Eventually sleep claimed me but it was fit full and full of nightmares.
That morning at breakfast my Father told me that my Mother had departed in the night. He told me nothing more then she was going somewhere better. I did not question him further remembering my Mothers words to me the previous night. Later that day though I heard some servants speaking about my Father saying he would soon have a new wife they would have to prepare for and that it would be a difficult subject to explain to me. I didn't know at the time my Mother was no longer living.

Is it better to be feared then loved or loved then feared?

In my opinion I would rather be loved then feared because if I'm feared that means that I scare people and I have to have done something to make them fear me. It means that I have become someone I never want to be. If I'm feared instead of loved I would hate myself more then everyone else feared me. There's no way to describe how I feel about being loved instead of feared other then I would rather be love then feared.
As a leader I don't think there's any good choice when it comes to being feared or loved. If your feared instead of love then people may try and take advantage of you or people may think you're an unfit leader. However if your feared instead of loved then there's the chance that everyone may be scaried of you and not want you as leader again. Being feared as a leader is not a good thing, it causes people to not want to confront you about anything or go against you for anything which gives you plenty of room for mistakes and when you make mistakes you have no one else to blame besides your self because everyone was to scarred to tell you what the dangers of what you did were.

      Vow of Silence

The vow of silence was kind of difficult to stick to. It was hard not to talk when you're so use to talking all the time. It also taught me a lot though. I does take some team work to do stuff if you can't talk, it also makes everything that much harder. You have to use hand gestures or write everything out and it really sucks to try and do all that.
If I had to do this for a whole day I would go nuts. I love to talk so going and hour and half was bad enough let alone a whole day. Its awful to try and not talk. Going a whole day would do nothing but drive me bonckers and make it all that much harder to relay a message or ask one of my teachers a question.
I have to say that this was especially challenging for me because of my love to talk. I really wanted to just open my mouth and speak when things got tough. It was really hard to stay quiet the whole time. It was almost like being a mime against my will. It was crazy and I never want to do it again.
