Corn Picker

As our project, we decided to build a corn picker. These were invented quite a while ago. It is an amazing how much a simple invention like this advanced the agricultural process. It was made in 1850 by a man named Edmund Quincy. This was on of the most helpful creations around this time. It also helped make picking corn much quicker.       This machine was invented because of the lack of workers on Quincy's farm. He needed a way to pick corn quickly using very few people. After a few prototypes along came the corn picker but since back then it has evolved quite a bit. This machine now pushes over the corn, sucks up the stalk, peels the corn from it and the corn is dropped into a truck driving beside it. The stalk is then shot out the back of the machine. This makes picking corn much simpler and requires less people.
