Today we stepped off the plane onto Bosnian soil and right away started out. First we're going to the Orthodox and Catholic church. When I decided I was going to Bosnia it was the first place I wanted to visit. Its such an old building full of history and religious culture. It was interesting to be in a place where theres so much history in a stone building.
After wards we walked to the Mosque, which is a Muslim temple of public worship. It cost 4 Euros to get in but its worth it. Once inside it was almost breath taking seeing all the tracery on the walls and ceilings. Unlike other churches this one has much more detail time and effort put in to making it so beautiful. It was ery much worth the euros to see it.
Now we are going to the Synagogue. This is the only functioning synagogue left in Sarajevo. It was first built in 1521 with a new upper floor add on built on in 1821. Its such a beautiful place that looks right out on the city. The priest was there and told about all that he had done while in the church. We were so fascinated that we sat there for hours listening to his stories before we realized that it was past time for dinner. We told the preist we appreciated his time and wisdom but must leave.
After we left the church we started walking up the road watching for signs of any places to eat and we saw a sign reading "Restaurant Sarajevo". After sitting down and reading the menu I decided that I wanted the Veal a la Natuale with a lemonade and chilled apple rolls for dessert.
So now we are on our way to the hotel. It is the "Old Town Hotel." We got a standard double room and
we are very ready for a good nights rest.
